‌Mobile gaming offers a whole smorgasbord of different genres, including puzzle games, RPGs, and first-person shooters among many others.

‌There are some standalone titles, including one game of the year winner, as well as spin-offs of some colossal names in gaming.

Fallout Shelter

‌We start our list with a spin-off from the massively successful Fallout series from Bethesda.

The console and PC version of this sees you wandering the post-nuclear wasteland in an open world, battling foes, solving mysteries, and getting embroiled in the post-nuclear power struggles.

In the mobile version, launched in 2015, you inhabit a slightly smaller world, instead building up your very own vault and the survivors inside.

This mobile game bears strong similarities to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, with additional features like fast-paced combat and team battles.

‌The game features a vast world for players to explore, brimming with resources and treasure.

Naturally, there are also dangers in the world including monsters and dungeons.

This game includes numerous microtransactions, which can quickly accumulate. However, if you wish to avoid these, you’ll need to spend more time grinding to level up.

The augmented-reality game Pokemon Go took the world by storm as enthusiasts ventured out to catch virtual creatures in real-world locations.

‌It even reached the pinnacle of US politics when presidential candidate Hilary Clinton made the painfully awkward “Pokemon go to the polls” remark during the 2016 US presidential election.

In the game, players wander about, using their phones to spot and capture Pokemon that appear before them, which can then be used in battles.
